Easy ways to cement in fence posts

Using cement or concrete to secure fence posts doesn’t need to involve using a cement mixer or a messy mixing process. This is a process that can be done easily and quickly by someone with no previous experience by using purpose-made postcrete. Using a rapid-setting concrete is a perfect solution if you’ve got to replace one or more broken fence posts. This method allows you to make the repair without any assistance.

Postcrete is used in five simple steps:

  1. Dig the hole for your fence post to the required depth and leave a gap of 4-6″ around the post.
  2. Position the fence post in the hole and ensure that it is level and straight.
  3. Pour water into the hole around the post but not quite to the top.
  4. Quickly pour the postcrete mix into the water and top up with a little more water if you are left with dry mix on top.
  5. Re-check that the fence post is level and secure it until the postcrete sets, this normally takes a few minutes.
